Mr. Timmons introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Agriculture, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
A BILL
To amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to lower the threshold for which criminal penalties apply to a violation of that Act.
Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the SNAP Fraud Accountability Act
.
Sec. 2. Violations and enforcement of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008
Section 15(b)(1) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2024(b)(1)) is amended by striking $5,000
each place it appears and inserting $1,000
