Mr. Murphy (for himself, Mr. Davis of North Carolina, and Mr. Hudson) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
To amend title XI of the Social Security Act to equalize the negotiation period between small-molecule and biologic candidates under the Drug Price Negotiation Program.
Section 1. Equalizing the negotiation period between small-molecule and biologic candidates under the Drug Price Negotiation Program
(a) In general
Section 1192(e)(1)(A)(ii) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1320f–1(e)(1)(A)(ii)) is amended by striking 7 years
and inserting 11 years
.
(b) Effective date
The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect as if included in the enactment of Public Law 117–169.
