A BILL

To prohibit marriages between individuals who are closely related by blood.

Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Consanguineous Marriage Prohibition Act of 2026.

Sec. 2. Federal prohibition on consanguineous marriage

Section 7 of title 1, United States Code, is amended by striking 2 individuals and inserting 2 individuals who are not related by affinity or consanguinity within the degree of first cousin each place it appears.
