Mr. Cornyn (for himself and Mr. Luján) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize fellowships under the Minority Fellowship Program to be awarded for training for professionals in the addiction medicine field.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Improving Access to Addiction Medicine Providers Act
.
Sec. 2. Minority Fellowship Program
Section 597 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 290ll) is amended—
(1)
in subsection (a)(1), by inserting diagnosis,
after related to
; and
(2)
in subsection (b), by inserting addiction medicine,
after psychiatry,
