A BILL
To impose criminal penalties for camping on public property in the District of Columbia.
Section 1. Camping on public property in the District of Columbia
(a) Definition
In this section, the term camp means to use any material to set up, maintain, or establish a temporary place of abode.
(b) Offense
It shall be unlawful in the District of Columbia to camp on public property.
(c) Penalty
Any person who violates subsection (b) shall be fined not more than $500, imprisoned for not more than 30 days, or both.
