The City entered into a Host City Agreement with FIFA in 2018 as a requirement of the bid process. The Seattle International Soccer Hosting Local Organizing Committee (SeattleFWC26) was established in 2022 at FIFA's request to coordinate the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Seattle, jointly perform the obligations of the Host City Agreement with the City, and ensure a successful and memorable tournament.
