To protect the independence of the Smithsonian Institution, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and other Federally supported cultural institutions, to preserve accurate and inclusive American history, to reaffirm the mission fiduciary authority of the NMAAHC Council, and to ensure that no executive action may limit their ability to research, present, and educate the public through exhibits and programming, and for other purposes.
